Alaska Air Thinking About Swapping Hawaiian's B717s for B737s?

So I just heard that Alaska Air might be considering replacing Hawaiian Airlines' B717 fleet with B737s. That's pretty interesting if you ask me. The B717s have been around for a while and are mainly used for inter-island flights in Hawaii. They're smaller and great for those short hops. But I guess Alaska is thinking the B737s could be a better fit?

I mean, the B737s are more versatile and can carry more passengers, but I'm curious how they'd work on those short routes. Are they just looking to standardize their fleet, or is there more to it?

Also, how do you guys think Hawaiian's passengers would react to the change? The B717s have been a staple there for a long time. Would folks miss them, or is it more about the service and schedule than the specific aircraft?

Kinda makes me wonder what other airlines might be considering similar swaps. Anyone else following this kind of fleet shuffle? Let me know what you think!
