What's Up with Lufthansa's New A350 Orders?

So, I just read that Lufthansa is getting more Airbus A350s. They're ordering like 10 more of these bad boys on top of what they already have. I think they already operate a bunch of A350-900s, right? Anyway, I'm curious about why they're going for more A350s instead of Boeing 777s or something else. Is it about fuel efficiency or maybe passenger comfort?

Also, I heard they're planning some cabin upgrades. Maybe trying to compete with the Middle Eastern carriers? I guess A350s are pretty sweet for long-haul flights, but I'm not super familiar with the differences compared to other aircraft.

Anyone have thoughts on how this fits into Lufthansa's overall strategy? Are they retiring older aircraft or just expanding their fleet? Interested to hear what you all think about this move and what it means for their routes or competition.
