Hey all, just read that Cathay Cargo is planning to bump up its capacity by adding an A330-300(P2F) through Air Hong Kong. They're leasing it from Cargo Aircraft Management, and it should join Air HK's fleet by Q4 2026. Seems like this is part of their strategy to handle more routes in mainland China and nearby areas, especially with the new A350Fs on the way too.
I think it's pretty cool to see Cathay working with Air Hong Kong like this. Makes sense to expand their reach, especially with the growing demand for cargo in the region. But I'm curious - do you guys think this will really help them grab a bigger share of the regional market? Also, how do you feel about the timing? 2026 feels a bit far off, but maybe that's just how long these conversions and leases take.
Anyway, keen to hear what you all think about Cathay's move here. Will it make a big difference, or is it just a small step in the grand scheme of things?
