Anyone Tried Spotting at Istanbul Airport (IST)? Need Lens Tips!

Started by Aviation8681 1 months ago 1 replies 70 views
So, I'm planning a trip to Istanbul and I'm super excited to do some plane spotting at the new IST airport. I've heard the traffic is pretty amazing there. I'm trying to figure out the best lens to bring along. Currently, I've got a Nikon D750 and I'm debating between my trusty 70-300mm or renting a 100-400mm for the trip.

I'm thinking the 100-400mm might give me more flexibility, especially since I'm not entirely sure how close you can get to the action. But I'm worried it might be overkill or just too heavy to lug around all day.

If anyone's been to IST for spotting, I'd love to hear your thoughts and any tips on the best spots to set up. Is there a lot of walking involved? Any security hassles? Also, how's the lighting in the afternoon? Appreciate any advice!
