Aeroregional Upgrading to A321s - Thoughts?

So I just stumbled upon some news that Aeroregional, the Ecuadorian airline, is planning to renew its fleet and they're adding the A321-200. Pretty interesting move, if you ask me. It's a step up in size and capacity from what they've got now. I think it makes sense, especially if they're looking at expanding routes or upping passenger numbers.

From what I remember, the A321-200 can handle a decent number of passengers and has solid range for regional flights. Could be a game-changer for them in terms of efficiency and maybe even costs in the long run. Though, I do wonder how this fits into their current routes and operations. Anyone know what their fleet looks like right now? Are they mostly older aircraft?

Also, curious about how this will affect their competition in the region. There are a few players in South America who might not be too thrilled about Aeroregional stepping up their game. Are they looking to compete more aggressively with other regional airlines?

Anyway, would love to hear what you guys think about this move. Is the A321 the right choice for them? Or should they have considered a different model?

I think adding the A321-200 is a smart move for Aeroregional. They've been using older 737s, so the A321 should be a nice upgrade in terms of capacity and fuel efficiency. Plus, it opens up possibilities for longer routes. As for competition, LATAM and Avianca are pretty dominant, but Aeroregional expanding could spice things up a bit. I'm curious if they'll stick with regional routes or try some longer ones too. Anyone know what kind of routes they might be considering?
